Successful Conclusion to Newcastle International Airport Pilot
Flo-San Limited (“Flo-San”) is pleased to announce that the Newcastle Airport pilot study has been successfully concluded. During the trial three of the initial prototype units were deployed at Newcastle International Airport between the baggage security hall and the duty free shopping area.
The units worked well and easily handled the relatively low volume of passenger numbers. Although numbers were low the units achieved a take-up rate of 70% allowing passengers exiting the security area to sanitise their hands before entering the duty free area.
Kieran Dougan, CEO of Flo-San commented “ We would like to thank Newcastle Airport for their support of the pilot. We are delighted with the results. The 70% take up rates was encouraging. The feedback from users was overwhelmingly positive and heled to validate the design. “
James Boag, Director of Operations at Newcastle Airport added: “We are pleased be able to support a local entrepreneur and provide FLO-SAN the opportunity to trial this new hand sanitiser device at the Airport.
“The hand sanitising system is designed for high traffic flow areas as seen in airports or similar passenger hubs. The trial enabled FLO-SAN to monitor passenger interactions and provide invaluable insight to support the further development of the product. We wish FLO-SAN every success in the future with their design.”
